Children and Youth School

Children and youth of all ages are always welcome to participate in the church school lessons, activities and field trips. The Church school lessons are designed to foster spiritual growth and explore how lessons of the gospel connect with daily life.

Church School Outreach Projects

Heifer International:

The church school kids are keeping up the tradition of supporting Heifer International, which helps families around the world lift themselves out of poverty and learn about sustainable methods of raising animals and growing crops. As part of our outreach project, we are studying how Heifer International’s programs help to improve local ecosystems and how we can be good stewards of the environment. If you would like to donate to Heifer International, please drop a check off at the church by December 19th and mark in the Memo that it is for Heifer.

We will once again be performing our all-church Christmas Pageant this year. The pageant will take place during church on December 19th. Mark your calendar… and reach out to Marianne if you would like to participate in the pageant or help out in some other way “behind the scenes.”

DONATIONS FOR OPERATION GRATITUDE

Another big thank you to the Church School for making the paracord bracelets for Operation Gratitude (a California organization that has sent over One Million care packages to military personnel, veterans and first responders):

“All who serve use paracord, which gets its name from parachute cord and can hold up to 550 lbs. of weight. The bracelet provides 7.5 feet of cord in an emergency. Paracord “Survival” Bracelets can be used to secure camouflage nets to trees or vehicles, build a makeshift shelter, extend a security strap or rope to reach and haul heavy objects, create a harness to extract an injured person from a bad location, make a sling or splint. And those are just a few of the ways to use the full paracord! Cut the paracord and remove the 7 to 9 individual nylon strands inside it (the “guts”) and now you have finer strong string to use as sewing thread to repair gear, emergency sutures to close a wound, fishing line or a trip line.

Our hope is to include one Paracord “Survival” Bracelet in each of our Deployed Troop Care Packages, and in the First Responder and Recruit Graduate Care Pouches.”
